Kidney Dialysis

There are two types of kidney dialysis.

1) Hemodialysis
2) Peritoneal dialysis

1) Hemodialysis

Hemodialysis is a method of artificially purifying the blood if urea accumulates in the blood due to kidney failure.

The duration of this method is 3 to 5 hours, which is done three times a week.

A hemodialyzer machine is used for this hemodialysis method.

This dialyzer machine is an artificial kidney that performs the function of blood purification.

In this process of hemodialysis, all the blood in the body is purified about twelve times.

2) Peritoneal Dialysis

In the method of peritoneal dialysis, first a small operation is done in the lower part of the abdomen. It is called a peritoneal catheter. A special fluid is then injected into the stomach. Which does the work of fluid filtration and then the same fluid is discarded.

There are also two types of peritoneal dialysis method.

1) Continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis

This is a simple procedure, this procedure is a very useful option for those people who are suffering from this kidney problem but still want to do their daily work in office or school college.

In this procedure the dialysis fluid is kept in the stomach for 3 to 4 hours. Also this cycle has to be done 3 to 4 times a day.

2) Automated peritoneal dialysis

This method is done by machine.

In this method, the tube is attached to the stomach before going to bed at night. The fluid that enters your body is absorbed for 8 to 10 hours.

In this procedure, the cyst is removed from the stomach when the patient wakes up the next day. After that the work of daily life can be done.
